It’s still the month to celebrate women all over the world.

The @jofoundation_org as usual commemorated IWD through the annual Ideation Series. This was our 5th series - high school edition.

We contributed our quota to closing the gender gap on inequality for women and girls, as the UN estimates that women’s lack of access to the online world will cause a $1.5 trillion loss to gross domestic product of low and middle-income countries by 2025 if action isn’t taken.

Our action exposed 100 secondary school girls to the world of tech through encouraging them to take STEM Education more seriously.

We distributed the Pictorial Book of Scientific Equipment, Instruments and Apparatus for Secondary Schools to each of our participant.

Highlights included presentations and Quiz competitions on STEM.

We appreciate the following schools that participated:

Govt. Girls Big Qua
Govt. Sec. Sch. Akim

Highlight for me was meeting these amazing young women in tech

As a Learning and Development Consultant, I have come across clients/owners in the hospitality industry who do not believe in paying for training.

There’s a saying that “every organization pays for training whether it has a program or not.” This means that they can recognize the value of training by providing a system approach to training delivery, thereby reaping its benefits or they can choose to ignore training and “pay” for training as their guests receive poor service.

Hospitality is a people business, yet while we place money values on buildings, land, food, inventories, and equipment, we have difficulty assigning same to our human capital.

Human capital has often been called the “soft” side of the business. Most organizations do not measure their human capital.

As one in charge of human capital development in your organization, you must show that training has a positive return on investment, that training does improve the bottom line of a company.

Hospitality thrives on its serviceability - people serving other people. It is vital to the long-term success of a hospitality business to have highly trained employees.

I am the bad service police.
