MACHU PICCHU & HUAYNA PICCHU (WAYNAPICCHU)🇵🇪 When you visit Macchu Pichu, lost city of the Incas, consider hiking Huayna Picchu (Wayna Picchu) overlooking the city and the Urubamba River. The hike is a super steep 1,000 ft elevation gain (3 mile out and back) with stone stairs and some scrambles, but the 360 views from the top are phenomenal. Only 200 people a day are allowed to hike up - make sure to get your tickets in advance as it’s also booked by people hiking the Inca Trail. Bring at least 2-3 L of water (consider a hiking bladder for easy sipping - I used one for the first time on this hike and it was a game changer).
